Supporting Joey’s Journey
Each year, our team choose a charity to support throughout the next 12 month period. Back in Spring 2023, we chose the Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Group (CCLG) – specifically the Joey’s Journey Fund.
Joey was born in 2020 and was very quickly diagnosed with congenital glioblastoma – a brain tumour. Joey needed emergency surgery and chemotherapy simply to survive. A traumatic journey for all involved. His family, including our colleague Scott Cassie (pictured accepting the cheque) who is Joey’s uncle, decided to give something back and wanted to support CCLG who have helped the family through these difficult early months and years of Joey’s life. The result was Joey’s Journey Fund was set up to fund research specifically into high grade gliomas.
Roll forward 12 months, and we have raised an amazing £3,903.75 for Joey’s Journey. We’ve held quizzes, tuck shops, bake sales, sweepstakes and some of us even took part in the Dundee Kiltwalk in August 2023.
We’re a small business, but we’re proud of what we’ve raised as a team. We will continue to follow Joey’s Journey but the time has now come to move on to supporting our next worth cause.
