Charity of the Year

Each year our staff choose a charity to support - its normally something that has affected a member of the team personally, and this year is no different.

Charity of the Year

In recent years, we’ve supported charities including Scottish Cot Death Trust, Beat Eating Disorders, CICRA (Crohn’s disease), Maggies Centres, Myeloma UK and CCLG (Children’s Charity and Leukaemia Group).  This year we are delighted to support Alopecia UK.

2024 – Alopecia UK

Alopecia UK is a small national charity working to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia through aims of Support, Awareness and Research. Despite being a small charity, they are still the largest alopecia charity in the UK with big ambitions to develop and grow further. Alopecia UK was founded in 2004 and registered with the Charity Commission of England & Wales in September 2005. Registration with the Scottish Charity Regulator took place in February 2014. Their mission is to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia.

The charity has a vision in which people with alopecia can live the life they want, with confidence.

2023 – Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group

In 2023 we were delighted to support Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group – Joey’s Journey – www.cclg.org.uk/joeys-journey

Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) is a leading national charity and expert voice for all children’s cancers. They fund world-class research, support patients and families, and our network of professional members work together in treatment, care and research to help shape a future where all children with cancer survive and live happy, healthy and independent lives.

All our fund raising over the past 15 months (quiz, tuck shop, sweepies, etc) has raised £2,042.75 and the Kiltwalk JustGiving target was smashed raising £1,861.  Total raised for Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group – £3,903.75.  This beats all our previous totals, absolutely amazing!

EVENTS

Throughout the year, we take part in various events, run bake sales within the office, run a tuck shop, quiz nights, sweepies etc.  All events are great fun with all staff taking part.

To boost our fundraising, we will be taking part in the Kilt Walk 2024 in Dundee on 11 August and we are also holding our annual charity quiz night on Tuesday 22nd October at The Fort Hotel, Broughty Ferry.
